About This Spot

Stepping into Fusaro’s Deli on High Ridge Road feels like entering a small corner of Italy tucked into Stamford. The steady rhythm of the family-run shop blends with the comforting scent of fresh bread, roasted peppers, and brewing coffee, drawing you into a warm, attentive space where food is made with care and tradition. It’s the kind of place where the pace is unhurried, inviting visitors to savor both the moment and the flavors that echo generations of Italian heritage.

The atmosphere is quietly vibrant, fueled by the steady shuffle of familiar faces and the gentle hum of conversations. From early mornings to the afternoon rush, the deli balances its role as a neighborhood staple with the charm of a family kitchen. Whether grabbing a breakfast sandwich filled with just the right balance of savory and fresh or lingering over a cold-cut combo bursting with layers of Italy’s finest cured meats and cheeses, each bite feels like a personal invitation into a deeply rooted culinary story.

The deli doesn’t just serve food — it curates experiences through its thoughtful selection of ingredients and house-crafted recipes. The presence of imported Italian goods, from sweet panettoni to seasonal specialties, adds a touch of boutique authenticity that complements the daily hustle. With limited seating outside, Fusaro’s embraces a casual, come-as-you-are attitude that encourages connection: between family members behind the counter, neighbors who return regularly, and newcomers discovering Stamford’s authentic Italian heart.

Fusaro’s is more than a place to pick up a sandwich — it’s a tune-in to a slower pace, a genuine smile, and a tangible link to Italian culinary culture right in this Connecticut community.

Great Italian deli that rivals the best of Arthur Avenue or Little Italy. The homemade food, great sandwiches, and imported good transport you straight to Italy. Friendly service and family run make this a true gem in Stamford.

Fresh, delicious and authentic Italian deli & grocery (Avellino, Napoli & Calabria) in 646 High Ridge Road, Stamford. Best homemade beef & pork lasagna! Recommend to buy everything in the store ????????, Panettone for the holidays!! Viva the family that runs this deli & Italia!!

My favorite Italian deli in Stamford. Always enjoy supporting small family owned businesses. Nice to see the generational ownership as the two sons make the sandwiches. Really enjoyed the Bella Nonna wedge. Highly recommended if you are in town.

The Sure Thing is exactly that, and its the real deal. Man oh man, this was probably one of the best sandwiches I have ever had in my life - no joke. The broccoli rabe was a perfect bitterness, the sweet peppers were SO good and the mozzarella added a great flavor to the overall sandwich. The staff couldn't have been nicer (talked with Mike for a bit) and the market is so cute that is LOADED with Italian pastas, desserts and cooking needs. This is such an amazing little gem in Stamford - so if you are around, get over there and try it!

Great service (very fast), and great atmosphere. Huge variety of cookies, drinks, and other products imported from Italy. A great selection of winter products such as Bauli Pandoro, chestnuts, and panettoni. No seating inside but there’s a few outside chairs. Parking in both front & back.

Highly recommend the godfather sandwich. I added hot peppers. It was delicious!

Went here for a sandwich for my first time today and will definitely be going back. People were extremely friendly, sandwich was absolutely delicious and loaded with meat, and the hot peppers may have been some of the hottest I have had at a Deli! The reason for losing 1star is that my wife got a meatball parm and it was cold in the middle so we had to reheat it.
